Hook Burger!

A Labor of Love

With over 35 years of burger experience, we’ve created a new premium burger concept, which we like to call “a labor of love.” Our passion for burgers began at the young age of sixteen—flipping burgers at the original Habit in Goleta, California. We had no idea burgers would be our calling. A few years later we bought The Habit—now known all over California as The Habit Burger Grill.

Now, we’re continuing our journey and our 35 year commitment to high quality food, friendly service and affordable prices with Hook Burger. Our burgers are humanely raised, fresh 100% USDA lean beef. Our chicken is fresh and has no hormone and antibiotics. Our albacore tuna is always guaranteed fresh. Our breads are locally baked daily from WildFlour Bakery. Our produce is locally grown by Babé Farms. Our dressings and sauces are homemade. And we use 100% biodegradable and compostable packaging and containers.

Our philosophy is simple—Quality. Service. Community. People are our greatest asset. That’s why we always put our employees, customers, and our food before the bottom line.

Give us a try. We hope you like it.

Who knows? You may even get Hooked!

Excellent experience.

Ordered food for take out and the service was speedy and accurate. The turkey burger was cooked perfectly and the grilled cheese was plenty of food. Really fair prices for what you get. Especially the huge shakes. Got a turkey burger, kids meal, Caesar salad, and a shake for under 20$ Their wheat buns are delicious and their sweet potato fries were not overly salty. Definitely will be coming back.

It’s Sooooo Good!

I’ve been coming here for over a year & 1/2 & love them. My favorite is the Bistro Salad with chicken.  It’s soooo good!  The mix of savory chicken, sweet craisins, crunchy pecans, soft goat cheese & tangy champagne vinaigrette, is just perfect!  They also have this yummy passion fruit ice tea. Overall, the atmosphere is great, service is friendly & prices are good.  Usually very busy for lunch, but lots of nice indoor & outdoor seating. Dinner’s not as busy.

What delicious, bizarre land did I step into?

I didn’t think it was possible to get a gourmet burger in LA without paying gourmet prices, so imagine my shock when I walked into Hook Burger for the first time and discovered that I could dine for under $7. What delicious, bizarre land did I step into, where one could eat quality food without breaking the bank?

Adding to my surprise was how darn nice and attentive all of the employees were. As far as I know they don’t work for tips (we left a few bucks anyway) since Hook is an order at the counter type of establishment. Still, the employees were a constant pleasant presence, bringing our food, busing tables, and even offering to refill our drinks at the soda fountain (something we easily could have done ourselves).
